Anime Costume Contest

This is by far the most highly anticipated event of the convention.

Please note that our Cosplay contest is moving back to Saturday night.

Rules

All CosPlay participants must be members of AnimeFest 2005.
No Costume is NO COSTUME. Please remember some of the attending fans are young so if you can’t wear it to Grandma’s you can’t wear it here.
No more than 6 people on the stage. You may trade players by having one walk off and another walk on but no more than 6 at any one time.
All costumes must pertain to Anime, Manga, J-Pop, J-Rock, or Anime Video Games. Please provide a picture reference of who you are portraying, as this will be helpful during the judging.
Please do not throw anything onto the stage or at the audience. We WILL make you clean it up and the Event Coordinator WILL be grumpy about it. It could also get you removed from the convention.
No flash pots, explosives, fire, smoke, fog, or mist of any kind.
No real weapons of any kind.
All music must be cued, clearly marked and turned in with your sign up sheet.
Time limits will be as follows: (Time limits will be enforced. A sign will be held up at the 2- minute mark. If you go over your time you will be asked to leave the stage.)
1. Runway walks have 60 seconds.
2. Individuals or groups up to 3 members have 3 minutes
3. Groups of 4 or larger have 5 minutes
The CosPlay staff may disqualify anyone for any reason deemed sufficient.
There will be a mandatory rehearsal the day of the CosPlay. Bring a script if you are unsure about the rating or your skit.

Please remember to use common sense. We want everyone to have a good time so please respect the rules and other players.

All sign up sheets must be completed and turned into the Information Desk by Noon, Saturday, Sept. 3rd.

Full Memberships:

Valid from date of purchase through Dec 31st 2012. Payment must be made online or postmarked by the due date listed below.

$25 through January 31st
$30 through March 31st
$35 through May 31st
$40 through July 31st
$45 through August 24th
$50 after August 24th and at the door
$15 child membership (8-12) at any time

Single Day Memberships:

Available for purchase during the event.

Admission is only available to AnimeFest members. Memberships are available at the door, but are priced higher than if purchased prior to the convention. Memberships purchased now are valid though December 31st, 2012 and include admission to the annual convention over Labor Day weekend. Additionally the member may also be entitled to attend other AnimeFest sponsored events for free or at a nominal charge (although these other events are rare).

Due to information privacy laws, children 12 and under may not register online. However:

All children under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult (18+) at all organization functions. Therefore, the adult guardian must also be a member in order to accompany the minor to most convention functions. This does not need to be their parent. [more info...]
Children 7 years old and younger may not actually join the organization, however they are admitted free to organization functions when accompanied by an adult member.
Children ages 8-12 may join the organization, but we can only accept payment at AnimeFest events or by mail. You can mail in their registration with at least one (18+) registration who will be acting as their guardian. For the child, all we need is the name they want on the badge, emergency contact info, and what AF member will be acting as their guardian.

All guests and activities are subject to change. We make every reasonable effort to assure that all activities and guest appearances occur as advertised. However, guests and staff members are subject to illness and unforeseen circumstances and sometimes things don't go as planned. We sincerely apologize if we must change any advertised information before or during the convention. If you have any question or comments, please feel to contact the chairman at any time.
