Got Your Game On? AnimeFest 2005 wants you!
With over 18,000 square feet devoted to gaming, AnimeFest 2005 will be
the place to go for gaming in North Texas.
THIS YEAR, WE WILL HAVE:
RPG:
- D&D; D&D all nighter
- BESM OGL; BESM d20
- Star Wars (d20); Star Trek; GURPS Horror; Buffy
- D&D Saturday night 'all nighter' wants you to
bring your own Level 14 characters.
LARP:
- Cthulu LARP - Friday night - "The Escape"
They said the mission would be simple. Get in, get out. Then things
went south. Now you're awake, and pain stabs your brain like ice
picks. You hear the guards outside. You know you have to ESCAPE.
- Anime LARP - Saturday night - "SHOUNEN ACTION NIGHT!"
At Shirokin Gakuen High School, being in a school club is not
just encouraged, but required. However, the school has a
reputation as being a haven for thugs, delinquents, misfits, and
other disreputable types, and funding is constantly a problem.
As a result, the stronger clubs have survived, having overpowered
and consumed the weaker clubs, until only three clubs remain.
This year, there is only funding for two clubs.
To prevent an all out war from erupting, a competition has
been announced with the clubs competing in five events for points.
The clubs will compete in tests of courage, of skill, of
strength, of endurance, and of spirit, in a no-holds-barred
free-for-all.
Winning is everything in Shounen Action Night! Cause
remember: Second place is just a nice way of saying FIRST LOSER!!!
Pre-registration is available at
http://www.life-larp.com/events/SANight/index.htm
- Cthulu LARP - Sunday - "Sin"
"Join us for a good old-fahioned tent revival, where things are not
always what they seem."
All rules and combat will be taught to you at the beginning of the game.

MAKOTO
Facing one of the six foot tall opponents (target towers), you see the
other two opponents at either side in your peripheral vision. You are in
a competition of three against one! Each tower has ten targets, any one
of these thirty targets could be the one to randomly activate. You never
know which one of the computerized opponents will draw your action!
A gong sounds the start of your session. An explosion of light and
sound draws your attention to the active opponent. As you turn toward
its direction your mind searches for the location of the lighted target
on the tower. With cat-like reflexes, you strike the target with the staff
in your hands. A second tone confirms you scoring a point before the
target darkened. Another explosion of light and sound causes you to
lunge across the arena bending to strike the lower target. As quickly as
you strike one target another one activates. Your opponent, Makoto, is
pacing you!
You are relentlessly drawn in to focusing continuously on finding and
striking the targets to the exclusion of all other thoughts. Your
movements are a dance, your breathing is rhythmic as you slip into an
automatic flow state. You move, lunging, stretching, bending, twisting,
and burning calories rapidly. Your mind is clear and calm, your spirit is
energized. You feel transported beyond time and space...then you remember
how your "friend" ate all your Pocky. You attack the towers with a renewed
frenzy!
Makoto....it’s not just a game....it’s Catharsis!
As you can see, we're going to have a strong gaming
program this year!!
Gaming Mascot
The entries are in and they are fantastic. Keep an eye out for our
