Akiharu ISHII
Animation Director/Character Designer/Key Animator
Akiharu Ishii was born in Tokushima, Japan in 1966. He graduated from an Anime Institute and turned professional. Currently, he works as a freelance Animator, Character Designer, and Illustrator. He is also a professor at the Japan Electronics College in the Animation Research department.
Ishii has been involved in numerous Anime shows, including Blood, Blood+, Fullmetal Alchemist, Ghost in the Shell, Patlabor, Prince of Tennis, Sakura Wars, and many many others. Most recently, he just finished working on Library War (Toshokan Senso).
This is Ishii’s first ever trip outside Japan! Please extend him a warm welcome and help make his time with us at AnimeFest a memorable event.

Shuhei MORITA
Director
Shuhei Morita was born in Nara, Japan in 1978. He graduated from Kyoto University of Art and Design in 2001, and started creating motion pictures while in college. He co-founded the animation company KamiKaze Douga in 1999, and worked for Studio 4C ( Mind Game, Tekkonkinkreet ) as well as KamiKaze Douga for 2 years from 2000.
In 2003 he co-founded YAMATOWORKS with Daisuke Sajiki and created the animation short Kakurenbo, which won the Golden Prize for Best short film category at the 2005 Fantasia Festival in Canada. In 2006 he went on to become the director for Freedom, which garnered the Notable Entry Award at the Tokyo International Anime Fair 2007.
This is Morita’s first time at AnimeFest.

Dai Sato
Screenwriter
Dai Sato was born in Shimane, Japan in 1969. Around the age of 19, he contracted with “Sold Out” and started his career working on broadcast composition and lyric writing. His interests gradually shifted toward the gaming industry and at the age of 23, Sato met Satoshi Tajiri, the game designer that brought the world “Pocket Monsters,” and began working at Game Freak. When Sato completed his contract the following year, he continued with his writing career, but at the same time expanded his reach into Techno and Club music. Soon thereafter, Sato co-founded a Techno music Label (Frogman Records) with Kengo Watanabe. This venture evolved into a planning company (his main forte) called, Frognation. Since then, Sato has independently founded a new company, Story Riders (KK), where he currently serves as President.
Some of Sato’s representative works include TV Anime shows such as “Eternal Family”, “Cowboy Bebop”, Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex”, “Wolf’s Rain”, “Mars Daybreak”, “Samurai Champloo”, “Psalms of Planets: Eureka Seven”, “Ergo Proxy”, “FREEDOM”, “Toward the Terra”, “Battle Spirits: Shonen Toppa Bashin” (2008) and Playstation video games such as “Ace Combat 3 Electrosphere” and more.
In 2006, Sato was awarded for best original screenplay for “Psalms of Planets: Eureka Seven” at the Tokyo Anime Awards.
This is Sato’s second time at AnimeFest.

Scott McNeil
Voice Actor
Scott McNeil hails from Vancouver, Canada by way of Brisbane, Australia. He started acting
at the age of three and hasn't (his mom would say) stopped since. Spanning almost two decades
and including almost 8500 episodes, Scott's voice career began with The New Adventures of He-Man
way back in (gasp) 1988. He is perhaps best known currently as Duo Maxwell in Gundam Wing,
Koga, in Inuyasha, Piccolo (the first) and many others in Dragon Ball Z, Dinobot,
Rattrap, Waspinator, and Silverbolt in Beast Wars, and Wolverine in X-Men: Evolution.
As well as Hohenheim in Full Metal Alchemist. Among his other voice credits are: Highlander,
Quest for Vengance, Krypto,the Superdog, Reboot, MegaMan, Mucha Lucha, Monster Rancher,
Mummies Alive, Ranma 1/2, Project A-Ko, Kong, The Vision of Escaflowne, Bucky O'Hare and the
Toad Wars, War Planets,Weird-Oh's, Molly O, Monkey Magic, Conan the Adventurer, The Wacky
World of Tex Avery, Extreme Dinosaurs, DragonTales, Warriors of Virtue, D'Myna Leagues,
Aagh It's the Mister Hell Show, Double Dragon, Darkstalkers, Street Fighter, GI Joe, and
the animated features Rudolph and the Island of Misfit Toys, and Casper's Haunted Christmas. As well
as video games such as Scarface, and The Godfather.
More recently Scott has been lending his vocal talents to characters like Stork, the lovably neurotic
Merb in Stormhawks, Grumpy Bear in the newest Care Bears and Wasabi (yes, a burbling
ball of wasabi!) in Sushi Pack. In the past two years Scott has also contributed his voice to characters in Eon Kid, Ricky Sprocket, and the
Warhammer 40,000 videogames
Scott is currently exercising his evil genius in Gundam 00 as the dark and enigmatic Ali AlSaachez, and Voltar,
the truly maniacal evil genius, in League of Super Evil. Some of his other present projects include Powerpuff Girls Z,
Maryoku Yummy, Rollbots, and Twisted Whiskers. … and when his busy schedule permits he can be found playing his
level 70 Blood Elf Priest on World of Warcraft …
Chuck Huber
Voice Actor
Chuck Huber has been an actor and teacher for 20 years including a recent six year stint as Principal of
St. Bernadette Academy. His ongoing credits include the voice of Hiro Nohara on Cartoon Network's Shin Chan,
as well as hundreds of other voices on dozens of shows. Android 17-Garlic Junior on Dragon Ball Z, Emperor
Pilaf on Dragonball, Hiei on Yu Yu Hakusho, Shou Tucker on Full Metal Alchemist, Hector on
Glass Fleet, Father Vaclev Havel in Trinity Blood, Seamus Han in Blue Gender, Adashino on
Mushishi, Metal Face on B'tX, The Royal Envoy on Samurai 7, Tanaka on Kodacha, Mohji on
One Piece, six different killers on Case Closed, Wong on Burst Angel, Nomura on Grappler Baki,
Eishun Konoe on Negima to name a few. He is also on the writing team for One Piece and directs for various
shows as needed including Sasami, One Piece, and Ouran Host Club. He began acting in Chicago on stage at the Goodman
Theater in Marvin's Room as well as working at the Steppenwolf, Court and Bailiwick theaters. TV/Film credits include
The Untouchables (TV) for Fox, Missing Persons for NBC and Going All the Way for Lakeshore Productions. His latest

which teaches performance based communication skills to fortune 500 companies. Chuck speaks and gives workshops on the subject of education
innovation and curriculum development at various colleges around the country and writes children's books with his wife.
They have five children named Joshua, Sebastian, Gabriel, Sophia and Max. Their first book, Zak and the Three Tree,
sold over 5000 copies. His next projects are an educational kid's show, Twisted History, and a related
children's book entitled The Hippo of Hope.
J. Michael Tatum
Voice Actor/ADR Director
J. Michael Tatum (born May 25, 1976 in McKinney, TX) is an American voice actor best known for portraying Doumeki
in Funimation's English language dub of the hit series XXXHolic. Other notable roles include Jiro Mochizuki in
Black Blood Brothers, Toma in Aquarion (on which he also worked as ADR director), and Eneru in the new dub
of One Piece. He has also been featured in Speed Grapher, Trinity Blood, Black Cat, School Rumble, Tsubasa: Reservoir
Chronicles, Shuffle, Glass Fleet, Mushishi and the feature-length film Vexille, among many others.
Discovered by Funimation veteran Christopher Bevins, who cast him in the challenging role of Rikichi in 2005's
Samurai 7, Tatum has gone on to play a wide variety of eccentric characters; most often peculiar, flamboyant villains
bent on world domination-a trope he especially enjoys-or stoic young wingmen providing a tranquil counterpoint to the
chaotic lives of their friends. In late 2007 Tatum officially branched out into ADR directing and adaptive writing for
Funimation and is currently working on a number of projects due for release later this year.
Jeong Mo Yang
Manga Ka
Born in South Korea, Yang moved to Argentina and lived there from age 6 to age 15, and has been living in United
States ever since then.
"My love for comics grew in me when I was a little child because comics have the power, not only to display some of
the most wonderful art, but also to tell beautiful stories.
After winning a Rising Star Manga vol. 5 contest ("I have entered 5 times in a row until finally winning a prize"), many
doors of opportunities opened up for me, who then had the privilege of being part of Star Trek Manga Vol 1, Hellgate: London
Vol.1, and Proffesional Manga to name a few.
I am currently working on Hellgate: London Vol.2, and my own little comic project called "Dyoz" being
published by TokyoPop.. I am working full time as a production artist making commercials, and I'm also working on and
off as a news reporter for a well known Korean news channel called YTN. Last, but not least, I'm putting together a
short film to a film festival called Iopen Christian Film festival." Yang is also a traditional storyboard artist for
commercials, music videos, and TV shows.

Ross Hines
Gaming Artist
Ross Hines, the Classic Battle Tech painting guru and official Cammo Spec artist. His painting
techniques and miniatures have been featured in many gaming manuals and articles.
Ross has been playing BattleTech since 1995, though only seriously collecting miniatures since 1999.
He has contributed both as a play tester and as a miniature artist to select books over the last few years. You

Amelie Belcher
Artists
Amelie "Ami-Chan" Belcher was born in Baton-Bloody-Boring-Rouge Louisiana where
the combination of chemical plant fumes and river water did major damage to her
fragile little mind at an early age. By all accounts, she started drawing at
the age of five (when she figured out that the pencil goes on the paper and not
up your nose) and didn't stop drawing until she ran out of paper…twenty years latter.
Amelie taught high school art for four years, but lost interest in teaching when
it started cutting into her drinking time. She now travels the country selling
her award winning art, doing one of a kind commissions for con goers, giving the
best damn panels on earth, and being paid tribute to by her army of fans known as
the "Ami Army" in the form of pocky and manga. Known as "the angriest chick on the
net", she is the creator of the popular web comic "The Real Life Adventures of Amelie"
at Cordeval.com which is read by desperately bored people all around the world.

Jamie McGonnigal

Jamie McGonnigal is best known for his work in Viva Pinata (Teddington), Weiss Kreuz (Omi),
Magic User's Club (Takeo), World of Narue (Kazuto) and F-Zero (Zoda). He has also
been heard in Tezuka's Jungle Emperor Leo (Lemonade), Pokemon (Hal), Yu Gi Oh! GX

Robert DeJesus
Robert is no stranger to the anime and manga
community. An Indiana-born, self-taught artist who got
his first art career break when he sent an eight page
short story to comic publisher, Antarctic Press in
February of 1990. He has drawn manga-inspired art for
well over 18 years, and has been published nearly all
over the world. He has worked for many companies like
Playstation Magazine, Marvel, Hasbro, and now his most
recent work with Harper Collins Publishing, just to name a few.
Emily DeJesus
Robert and Emily met at a convention called Anime
Central, and haven't been apart since that day. Emily
has always enjoyed manga and anime, but never thought
it could be her job. Emily has worked with Robert for
over 6 years now. She helps write the web comic How
to Loathe Drawing in the Manga Style and has just
finished writing her first children's book. She enjoys
the business side of working for Studio Capsule very
much and is grateful that she has an opportunity to
work in the comics business.

Bruce Lewis

Bruce Lewis is an American voice actor, writer, artist, and author. He has worked in the U.S, manga and
anime industry since 1993.
A lifelong American anime and manga enthisiast, Bruce Lewis is the author of Draw Manga: How To Draw Manga
In Your Own Unique Style (ISBN 1-84340-188-6), an amazon.com Best Seller recommended by Shôjo Beat
magazine as the one American how-to-draw-manga book to get. His freelance writing on anime and manga has been
published in Animage, Animerica, Anime UK, Anime FX, Wizard, Manga Max and Pulp.
As a voice actor, he has appeared in Aquarian Age [ADV]; BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad, Black Cat,
Ragnarok: The Animation (as "Fat Thief"), Witchblade, Genesis of Aquarion, Hell Girl, Black Blood Brothers,
BALDR FORCE EXE Resolution, Shuffle!, One Piece, Jyu Oh Sei, School Rumble, Shin-Chan, and

Matt Herms
Artist
Matt Herms is the co-creator, always illiustrator, and usually writer of the fresh,
smash-hit webcomic Sticky-Floors, hosted on Snafu-Comics.com.
Matt also does comics in the the traditional dead-treee format,
including penciling for Sonic the Hedgehog(Archie Comics) and colorist work.
He's also done conceptual, promotional and interactive artwork for video games, websites
and anime conventions, and is a regular on the con circuit, happy to go anywhere he has a
couch to sleep on and 'fridge to raid.
Christopher Ayres
Voice Actor / Director
Christopher Ayres has been working professionally in theatre, television and
film since the age of 6. His work has been seen Regionally, Nationally and on
Broadway. He currently works as a voice actor for ADV FILMS and FUNimation
ENTERTAINMENT, and has recently started working as an A.D. R. Director for ADV
FILMS. His first project for the studio is the hit anime musical comedy THE
NERIMA DAIKON BROTHERS. In addition to that he is also the director for XENOSAGA

Greg Ayres
Voice Actor
Greg Ayres has spent the last year rockin' his way through two new anime series. As the
loud-mouthed Hideki in Nerima Daikon Brothers, and Koyuki, singing in the the
band in Beck:Mongolian Chop Squad. He is also thrill to be able to add the role of Kaoru
Hitachiin in Ouran High School Host club to his list of new favorite roles. Other recent
works include JR. in ,Xenosaga , Roan in Ragnorok The Animation, Yamazaki
in Welcome to the NHK , Nowy, in Glass Fleet, and Yukinojoh Tohyama in
The Wallflower.
The once "Fanboy" turned VA started working in anime a little over five years ago, and within
the first two years managed to snag two of his favorite roles in anime. He was thrilled to
voice the role of his favorite character Son Goku in Saiyuki. Just one year later
voiced Kaworu Nagisa in the Director's Cut of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Other roles
include Chrono in Chrono Crusade, Negi Springfield in Negima, Heihachi
in Samurai 7, Jr. in Xenosaga:The Animation, Satoshi Hiwatari in DNAngel,
Pope Alessandro XVIII in Trinity Blood, Tsuyoshi in Kodocha,
Leo in Ghost Stories, Tsujido in Speed Grapher, and Gau Ban in
Shadow Skill. He can also be heard in other anime titles such as Super Gals, Spiral, Macross,
Mythical Detective Loki, Burst Angel , Gravion, Godanner, Pretear, Full Metal Panic, E's Otherwise and a
whole lot more.
When he's not in a booth with headphones on, you can usually find him sporting headphones of
another variety behind "the decks". A veteran nightclub DJ of many years, Greg has really
enjoyed the opportunity of doing something else that he truly loves. From packed rooms at
anime conventions, to the legendary stage of *The Knitting Factory (NYC)*, Greg never misses
an opportunity to share his love of music with anyone who will listen.
Josh Grelle
Voice Actor/Writer
A native Texan, Josh was raised on stage and in the art studios of Central Texas.
He performed on stage for over 15 years prior to starting work for A.D.V. Films at
the start of 2004. Josh is known for playing the outrageous Taishi in Comic
Party: Revolution, Kyohei in the Shinichi Watanabe (AKA Nabeshin) comedy,
The Wallflower, and Kyoushiro in Kyoushiro and the Eternal Sky
(AKA Shattered Angels). He can also be seen as Admiral Voda in Full
Metal Panic: The Second Raid, G-6 and various Villians in Gatchaman
, Elegen, Gaster,Derzerb, and Enzi in Guyver: The Bio Boosted Armor,
Suonkasu in Utawareumono, Kyoushiro in Innocent Venus,
Guy in Venus Vs Virus, Viscount Wolkins in Pumpkin Scissors,
and Hammer in Xenosaga-The Animation. Josh has also lent his vocal talents
to such shows as Project Blue: Earth S.O.S, Coyote Ragtime Show, Nerima Daikon Brothers,
009-1, Kiba, Air Gear, Air TV and many more.
Josh has also written for ADV. He wrote for all of the magical harem comedy Magikano, and was
an assistant writer on Moonlight Mile.

Carli Mosier
Voice Actor
Carli has been involved in theater and music since the age of 6 at HITS theater and the Houston
Grand Opera. She graduated from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts as a theatre major
and then took acting classes under the great Stuart Ostrow.
Four years ago she began working for ADV Films and has appeared in such shows as Mythical Detective Loki
Ragnarok, as Tsubasa Maijima, and Godannar, as Kei. More recently, Carli has been
cast in such ADV titles as UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie, where she played Princess Pharm; Best
Student Council, as Kenran Vice President; Moeyo Ken TV, as Sayoko Yamazaki, and as
Febronia and various voices in Xenosaga: The Animation.
Carli is probably best known for her performance as the sexy Detective Yukika in Nerima Daikon
Brothers. Most recently, Anime fans saw Carli as the proper—and quite often chaotic—Student Council
President Yuri Kurosu in Magikano, which was released in December 2007.
Continuing her love of music she's currently in the band, Duster, with her husband who is a veteran guitarist
and lead vocalist and she has also lent her impressive vocal talents as a singer to the upcoming Voices for
Tolerance album.
Hannah Alcorn
Voice Actor
Hannah Alcorn is an actress from Houston, Texas and
began acting on stage at the age of 11 and has been
working professionally since the age of 18. She is
currently a senior at the University of Houston
working towards her BA in Theatre with a concentration
on acting and directing. Her recent stage work
includes Lysistrata, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Side
Show, and she has appeared in several productions with
the Houston Children's Theatre Festival and Houston
Grand Opera.
Hannah has recently ventured into the anime industry
as a voice actress, and can be heard in her first two
principal roles for ADV Films, the sweet-but-bumbling
witch hunter Marin Nijihara in "Magikano," and as the
lead female character Sunako in the new Shinichi
Watanabe comedy "The Wallflower." Hannah is also
excited to have become a part of the "Voices For..."
organization. She looks forward to continuing her
career within the anime industry and voice acting.
Hannah enjoys tea parties with her stuffed animals,
kayaking, and shark week.
Ramen and Rice
Anime Music Performers (Violin & Cello)
We're excited to annouce the return of Ramen and Rice to AnimeFest for their
fourth appearance!
Sisters Kim and Michelle Kwon live in the California Bay Area, and have been
studying music since childhood. Also lovers of anime and games, they made their
debut as the anime/game music duet "Ramen and Rice" years ago at Fanimecon 2000.
Since then, they have attended Fanimecon every year to play and also made an
appearance at AnimeExpo 2002 in Long Beach. Both college students at Stanford,
Kim (Ramen)has been studying violin for 17 years; and Michelle (Rice)
has been studying cello for 16 years. Together, they arrange their own versions
of anime/game music by ear and present them to the anime/game public to enjoy.
