Nope, same thing. At this point the only thing the club does is the convention. If you are a paid member then admission to the convention is free (and hopefully why you become a member.)
If they are under 16 they will need an adult with them. You must be a member in order to go into several parts of the convention, therefore the adult would also have to be a member in order to accompany them. If you feel comfortable that your teenager can act appropriately, we generally don't require the adult to accompany them into the events, but we strongly recommend it. If you chose not to become a member, you should at least stay close by and check on them frequently.
We realize this might be inconvenient, but we've had too many occurrences of shoplifting at prior events and mostly by that age group. Most of our vendors won't hesitate to prosecute. The other thing that tends to happen all too often is teenagers who spend all their money in the dealer room, skip meals because they spent all their money, then later pass out from the lack of food/water. This really happens quite frequently.
Our goal is for the weekend to be safe and fun for everyone involved. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call us.
My friend and I are both signing up, can we send both of our memberships in one envelope?
So long as each individual has a separate registration form filled out, you can use the same envelope and/or even send in just one check, or money, order to cover all the memberships at one time.
My credit card is not going through, what can I do to still get the pre-reg price?
For some reason certain browsers do not want to hook up to the credit card site and there is nothing we can do about it at this time. There are a few things you can do 1)print out your invoice and send it in with a check, or money order, by the published deadline or 2)after everyone you are registering is in the system, call AnimeFest and we can enter your credit card in while on the phone with you. I do ask that if you have time to mail it and you can afford to write a check, please mail in your payment. The closer to the con - the crazier it gets for us.
Memberships are nonrefundable.
If you notify us (registration@animefest.org) at least three full weeks prior
to the start of AnimeFest we can transfer your membership to someone for the current year. The email must include:
The transfering member's:
The transferee's:
When will I receive my ticket?
We don't actually send out paper tickets. If you register by mail with a check or money order we will send you a receipt, but not a ticket. We simply use our online database to verify your membership and payment. This helps to reduce costs. To verify that you are on the list, simply login to the site and be sure that your invoice ( "My Account -> My Purchases" ) is marked as paid.
Where and when can I pick up my badge?
Convention registration will be in the Austin ballroom on the second floor of the Sheraton on Thursday night. Starting Friday morning registration will be located in the foyer of the convention center on the 1st floor. Registration will be open during the following hours:
What do I have to show to pick up my badge?
When you arrive at the convention you will need to show a printed copy of your paid invoice or your paid invoice on your smart phone from your Animefest account and a current valid Picutre ID to pick up your badge. A current valid photo ID include a driver's license, a passport, a military ID, a school ID, a work ID, etc.) may be used if you do not have a copy of your invoice. A quick check-in invoice will be emailed to the member's account a few days before the convention.
Can I pick up my friends' badges?
You may pick up your friend's badges if you have copies of their paid invoices. We will ask for ID from you, so we have the name of the person who picked up the badges in case your friends show up later to pick up their badges.
Your badge allows you admittance to all AnimeFest convention activities. It identifies you as a member to the convention and hotel staff. It must be worn visibly and above the waist at all times in convention areas. AnimeFest staff may physically check badges.
Oops, my check bounced. What now?
It's a bummer, but it happens. You can still come once you pay the bounced check fee of $25 and pay the membership fee again.
What are the convention hours?
AnimeFest runs from 12 noon on Friday to 3 pm on
Monday.
Gaming and Video Rooms are 24 hours.
The Dealer Room and Art Show hours are:
Why do conventions want me to stay at the hotel?
Besides all the fun you can have and not have to worry about driving home? Well, the more room nights the convention has the better deal the hotel gives us and that gives us more money for bringing in cool guests and more fun things for you to do at the con.
What is the AnimeFest weapons policy?
If you wonder what kind of weapons or props you can bring to AnimeFest you can go to our Weapons Policy page for more information.
What is the AnimeFest Dress Code?
Yes, you have to be dressed! There are a few more rules too so you should probably check out the Dress Code page for more information.
What are the Convention Rules for AnimeFest?
Okay, so nobody really likes rules but sometimes you just gotta have them. You can see the AnimeFest Convention Rules page for more information.
Can I bring my camera or camcorder?
Yes, you can. Just remember to be courteous in taking your pictures. There may be events at the convention where photography will be restricted or prohibited.
Yes, it is and we do NOT allow it at AnimeFest. That is called pandering or panhandling and will not not be tolerated. It lowers the person doing it as well as the con. We give the person one chance to put the sign away. Most of the time it's harmless, just someone who ran out of money but if everyone plans ahead and keeps aside enough money for meals and transportation this shouldn't happen.
Our Operations Department on the hotel's lobby level handles our lost and found. At the end of the day all items of value are handed to hotel, except convention badges.
Lost Badges are kept in operations. After checking there you may purchase a replacement badge for $20
Cosplay is a costume contest where fans dress up as their favorite anime, gaming, or J-Pop character. There are 3 different kinds of Cosplay entries:
Cosplay Skits is one of the most popular events at the con. You will see people dressed up not just for Cosplay, but everyday of the con.
Can you tell me if Relena finds out that Zeechs is her brother and if she and Heero go out?
We have no idea, thanks for asking.
