Well, I figured try to get an early start on this one so that hopefully we have things to work with.

I'm posting a section for VK/JPOP/JROCK, but I can say, as much as I'd even like to see some there, it's unlikely. Usually AnimeFest chooses things that have some sort of relation to anime and/or games. But as you make suggestions, I'll try to add on to the list as I can.

JPOP/JROCK/VK [anime and/or game related]

VK, JROCK, JPOP [non-anime or game affiliated]

Well, I suppose you could add Maximum the Hormone (since Death Note seems to be en vogue these days) and maybe an up-and-coming band like Scandal to the list, for the ladies. Haha.

Well, I must say based off your suggestion, since I love Maximum the Hormone, that it's a nice way to throw that into the "anime" stash even though it will probably be looked at close to last :/ But at least it won't be very last! I'll add your two suggestions sometime this evening ^_^

Hahaha. Much obliged. It wasn't exactly a wish list for me. I'm just suggesting bands I think the congoers would really enjoy seeing.

I would LOVE to see Anna Tsuchiya hit Dallas. She did a lot of music for the NANA anime, and the ending theme for Resident Evil: Degeneration. Not to mention she starred in Kamikaze Girls. Google informs me she played Anime Expo in 2007.

If you choose Versailles, better hope they have a new bassist by next year, but I don't know. Without Jasmine You, it won't be the same.

Is there any way we could get Kalafina?

Their opening to "Soro no Woto" has been on constant play in my car for the past couple of weeks. If you haven't heard them the opening is here. Their own video of the an extended version of the song is here if you want to see them in performance. They were at Anime Boston last May and there are more videos of them at that con on YouTube.

Abingdon boys school sounds good! Asian-Kung Fu Generation is good too! But perhaps you should consider L.MC. It would be totally awesome if you got Hyde to come over! That would be great!!

Well any of these would be awesome to me.

Dir en Grey
Asian Kung-fu Generation
L'Arc-en-Ciel
The Pillows
Maximum the Hormone
Flow (again please)
Orange Range
The Back Horn
An Cafe
High and Mighty Color

I would pass out if any of these bands made it to Animefest.
Please get a good band this year. Eyeshine was cool but I want a Japanese band this year.

I don't know how good this reply will be (seeing as how it's probably too late to contact them about an appearance this year) but I'd like to throw in my suggestion for The Yoshida Brothers.
I think a concert by them would be amazing.

Versailles is planning a world tour startup in September as it is... Everyone loved them at A-Kon and it was a notoriously amazing performance... They have a new album out... Not like AFest could make a LOT of money this year buy getting them or anything (sarcasm) ... and yall DID promise us something big for this year >.> <.< It just might be worth putting in some effort, just sayin.

From a complete Versailles fangirl, this is seconded. Seconded soooo much. I would kill to see Ascendead Master (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ne423XWtjf4&translated=1) or Serenade (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5L_ZdM7nmzo) live.

Well even though they were the band for animefest one year, I'd like to see Ramen and Rice come back again if you don't mind. I'd be happy with them doing a concert again or even having a show before the actual band that is going to play. I love listening to them.

I will suggest other bands even though I know it's nearly impossible and would be only a dream but here it goes anyways just for my two cents:

Gackt
L'Arc En Ciel
Gazette
ayumi hamasaki
maaya sakomoto
Flow
Kalafina

all I'd like to ask is no local bands that think they can sing japanese or have made a new 'version' of a song...I've seen that happen a lot at some other cons and personally a lot of people didn't stay for long for the concert so no local bands please unless they are really REALLY good! thanks.

Omg Flow or Orange Range would be awesome...but I have a question!

Is there any reason why Do As Infinity wouldn't be able to come for this year? Oh man I'd give anything to hear some of my favorite old jams Very Happy

Hopefully who ever is chosen if I don't know them I will have enough time to get them into my ipod for a few runs so I can be familiar with the music!

Anyone know if the whole NIRGILIS thing will be the band and thats it or are they still looking for a BAND band. NIRGILIS is apparently opening the raves (or one of them anyway) thats not the usual concert slot so its not clear if an actual concert band is still coming or not?
